INDIA. Kushan Empire. Huvishka (ca. AD 151-190). AV dinar (21mm, 7.93 gm, 12h). NGC Choice AU 4/5 - 4/5. Kushan standard, Bactria, main mint (probably Balkh), late phase. ÞAONANOÞAO OO-HÞKI KOÞANO, nimbate half-length bust of Huvishka left, on mountain top, wearing mustache, and prominent wart on cheek, round helmet with pointed jeweled earflap, forehead medallion, crest ornament, and circular side ornament, diadem with triangular tie, kaftan open at top and bottom, clasped at chest, with rolled lapels and ornamented with jewels, worn over segmented collared tunic, jewel-edged armlets inset into double-helix pattern, flames emanating from both shoulders, club in right hand with pointed index finger, transverse filleted scepter surmounted by lion seated right in left hand over shoulder/ OA-NINDO, Oanindo (Nike) standing facing, nimbate helmeted head right, wearing classical Greek dress, bracelets, and armlets, jeweled diadem with two ribbons in outstretched left hand, palm in right over shoulder; tamgha with crossbar in left field, dotted border.
