Admiral Vernon is known for his capture of the Spanish Colonial possessed Porto Bello in Central America with just six ships and in just two days. The Spanish has caused issues for British ships trying to dock here and his coup was rewarded with the honour the 'Freedom of the City of London' and many medals were made to commemorate the event.
