The Saharawi peseta is a currency that, although official, has a symbolic character given that in practice the currencies that circulate are both the Moroccan dirham and the Algerian dinar. Given its official nature, since it is included in the Constitution of the Democratic Saharawi Arab Republic, since 1990 there have been mintings carried out by a private company and also by the Havana Mint in Cuba, both of coins for Common 1, 2, 5, 25 and 50 Sahrawi pesetas of face as well as in commemorative and collector's issues minted in noble metals.
