Cyprus Central Bank of Cyprus 5 Shillings 30.10.1914 Pick 3s Specimen PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 Net. A unique Specimen representing the lowest denomination from this extremely short-lived issue. These notes were issued in December 1914 and rapidly withdrawn in June of 1915. Although the print has faded the chevron watermarked paper, bold back Specimen overprint, serial number, the Bowring signature and date remain extremely clear. If you look closely the imprint remains where Thomas Del la Rue utilized light blue inks, to engrave two evenly weighted mandalas holding the coat of arms and a portrait of King George V. A mere two Specimen have been registered in the PMG Population Report, and this example holds the highest grade by far.
