Japan Greater Japan Imperial National Bank 1 Yen ND (1877) Pick 20 PMG Very Fine 30. A handsome and much above average example of this scarce 19th century issue. The center emblem on the front of the note indicates the bank of origin, as do the vertical notations on the back. A distinctive vignette of sailors are exhibited on the front, while a depiction of Ebisu (god of commerce and shipping) enhances the back.
