Jamaica, Barclays Bank 1.3.1940 P-S148c PMG Very Fine 25 10 Pounds
Barclays Bank banknotes from around the Caribbean perhaps present one of the "last frontiers" in world paper money. A catalog has never been published, and relatively little is known about these notes. A few dedicated collectors have put together collections to go along with specific countries, but to the best of our knowledge no one (yet) has truly specialized in these historic pieces. What we can tell you about this piece is that it is a nice, problem-free example of the Jamaica 10 Pound, dated 1940. A very scarce type and one that hopefully one day will receive the attention it deserves.
