Anonymous, 209 BC. Denarius (Subaeratus, 20 mm, 3.00 g, 9 h), a contemporary plated imitation. Head of Roma to right, wearing winged helmet and pendant earring; behind, X (mark of value). Rev. ROMA The Dioscuri, each holding spear, on horseback galloping right; above their heads, two stars; to lower right, spearhead. Cf. Crawford 88/2b, RBW 371 and Sydenham 222 (for prototype). Nicely toned. Some scratches and with breaks in plating, otherwise, very fine.
