CIMMERIAN BOSPOROS. Pantikapaion. Circa 380-370 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 15 mm, 2.58 g, 6 h). Head of Pan with animal ears and a pug nose to left. Rev. ΠΑΝTI Lion standing to left, raising his right forepaw; all within shallow circular incuse. HGC 7, 72 corr. ('Diobol'). MacDonald 33. SNG BM Black Sea 857. SNG Stancomb -. Lightly toned and of fine style, a beautiful piece struck on good metal. Slightly rough and with minor scratches on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
