CYPRUS. Kition. Baalmelek I, circa 479-449 BC. Stater (Silver, 25 mm, 11.49 g, 5 h). Herakles in fighting stance right, holding club over his head and bow in his left, lion skin draped over arm. Rev. 𐡋𐡁𐤏𐡋 / 𐡌𐡋𐡊 ('lb'l / mlk' in Aramaic) Lion seated right; to right, head of a ram to right. Tziambazis 14. Zapiti & Michaelidou 1. Very rare. A fine example with an excellent reverse. Struck from the usual worn obverse die, otherwise, good very fine.
