P. Maenius Antiacus M.f, 132 BC. Denarius (Silver, 17 mm, 3.74 g, 6 h), Rome. Head of Roma to right, wearing winged helmet, pendant earring and pearl necklace; behind, star (mark of value). Rev. P•MAEANT / ROMA Victory driving galloping quadriga to right, holding wreath in her right hand and goad and reins in her left. Babelon (Maenia) 7. Crawford 249/1. RBW 1023. Sydenham 492. Nicely toned. Struck on a slightly short flan and with some deposits, otherwise, about extremely fine.


From an American collection of Roman Republican and Imperatorial coins, acquired from Goldberg in 2002 (with collector's ticket).
