MZDYSN BGY ŠHPWHLY MRKAN MRKA 'YR'N MNW CTRY MN YZD'N ('Worshipper of Lord Mazda, 'God' Shahpur, King of Kings of Iran who has lineage from the Gods' in Pahlawi) Draped bust of Shahpur I to right, wearing mural crown with korymbos. Rev. ŠHPWHLY ŠHPWHLY ('Shahpur Shahpur' in Pahlawi) Fire altar flanked by two attendants, in upper left field, frawah. SNS I, type IIc/1d. A beautifully toned example of fine style. Struck from slightly worn dies and with light scratches, otherwise, very fine.
