PHRYGIA. Temenothyrae. Pseudo-autonomous issue. Hexassarion (Bronze, 31 mm, 15.48 g, 6 h), Nikomachos, first archon for the second time. Time of Philip I, 244-249. ΘЄA PΩMH Draped and cuirassed bust of Roma to right, wearing crested Attic helmet. Rev. ΝЄΙΚΟΜΑΧΟϹ ΑΡΧΙЄΡ ΑΡΧ / Α ΤΟ Β // ΤΗΜЄΝΟΘΥ/ΡЄΥϹΙΝ Serapis, on the right, seated to left on throne, extending his right hand and holding scepter in his left; on the left, Isis standing front, head to right, holding scepter in her right hand and sistrum in her left. BMC 13. RPC VIII online ID 20266. Somewhat rough, otherwise, very fine.

From the collection of G. Plankenhorn, formed since the 1960s (with collector's ticket).

The fact that the name of the archiereus is in the nominative and the ethnic in the dative indicates that this issue was paid for by the first archon, Nikomachos, as a form of euergetism to his polis.
