ΑΜΒΛΑΔЄΩΝ ΛΑKЄΔΑΙΜΟΝΙΩΝ Kybele (?) seated left, holding grain ears in her right hand and cornucopiae in her left; at feet to left, lion. RPC VIII online ID 20803. Von Aulock, Pisidien I, 149-51. Although Sparta only had one true colony, Taras, over the centuries, several cities came to identify themselves as Spartan 'colonies', including Amblada, as shown by the reverse legend of our coin.
