Elagabalus, 218-222. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 2.94 g, 11 h), Rome (?), 219. IMP ANTONINVS AVG Laureate and draped bust of Elagabalus to right, seen from behind. Rev. IOVI CONSERVATORI Jupiter standing front, head to left, holding thunderbolt in his right hand and reversed spear in his left; at feet to left, eagle standing left, head right; to right, signum. Berk 192 (2014), 218 (same dies). BMC 142 var. (Jupiter holding scepter). Cohen -. RIC 91 var. (same). Thirion 109 var. (same). A very rare variety. Fresh, lustrous and very sharp. Struck from a slightly clashed reverse die, otherwise, good extremely fine.
