Caracalla, 198-217. Denarius (Silver, 20 mm, 3.37 g, 11 h), Rome, 205. ANTONINVS PIVS AVG Laureate and draped bust of Caracalla to right, seen from behind. Rev. PONTIF TR P VIII COS II Mars standing left, placing his right foot on helmet, holding branch in his right hand and inverted spear in his left. BMC 481. Cohen 420. RIC 80b. Attractively toned and with a fine portrait. Slightly rough and with two thin flan cracks, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
