P M TR P VIII COS III P P Severus Alexander standing right in quadriga, extending his right hand and holding eagle-tipped scepter in his left. BMC 575 note var. = Cohen 376 var. = RIC 99 var. (all referring to a cast in Paris with slight drapery on Severus Alexander's shoulder). Triton I (1997), 1569 (same dies). Extremely rare. An unusually attractive example of this important issue. Slightly porous and with minor scratches, otherwise, very fine.
