Georgios, mid 11th century. Seal (Lead, 20 mm, 8.95 g, 12 h). Large cross with globules and pairs of pellets at the extremities, an X behind the intersection and floral ornaments springing from base. Rev. [C]TPC RO/[H]ΘOC S / CΦPAΓIC / ΓЄⲰPΓI/OV ('The Cross is the help and the seal of Georgios') in five lines, decorations above and flanking the last line. Apparently unpublished. An attractive seal with a personal religious legend invoking the Cross. Some breakage, otherwise, good very fine.
