David Samuelopoulos, protospatharios and strategos, 11th century. Seal (Lead, 32 mm, 20.11 g, 12 h). Θ / NI/K/O-Λ/A/OC Nimbate facing bust of Saint Nicholas, raising his right hand in benediction and holding book of Gospels in his left. Rev. +KЄ R,Θ, / ΔABHΘ / ACΠAΘ,P, / S CTPATI/ΓO O CAM/HΛΠ૪Λ in six lines. Unpublished in the standard references. Some surface roughness and numerous cleaning scratches on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
