ISLAMIC, 'Abbasid Caliphate. temp. Al-Saffah, AH 132-136 / AD 749-754. Fals (Bronze, 21 mm, 2.54 g), struck during the reign of Abd Allah al-Saffah, without mint, struck in the style of Syria or the Jazira, without date. Large five-pointed star; around first part of Kalima. Rev. In in the inner field, second part of Kalima; in the outer margin, bism Allah 'Abd Allah 'Abd Allah Amir al-Au'minin; all in Kufic. Album 295. Extremely rare. Minor edge crack and with some deposits, otherwise, about very fine.

The 'Abd Allah' mentioned on the reverse in the outer margin legend is very likely the Abbasid caliph 'Abd Allah al-Saffah.
