ISLAMIC, Persia (Pre-Seljuq). Ghaznavids. Yamin al-Dawla Abu'l-Qasim Mahmud, AH 388-421 / AD 998-1030. Multiple Dirham (Silver, 45 mm, 11.90 g), citing Mahmud as 'Yamin al-Dawla wa-l-Amin al-Milla', the Abbasid Caliph al-Qadir, and Balkategin, Andaraba, AH 389 = AD 998/9. At the bottom of the inner field, sword. Album 1608. A nicely toned and particularly well struck example. Minor edge crack, otherwise, good very fine.
