M. Junius Brutus, 54 BC. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 4.11 g, 11 h), Rome. LIBERTAS Head of Libertas to right, wearing pendant earring and necklace. Rev. BRVTVS The consul L. Junius Brutus, preceded by an accensus, walking left between two lictors, each carrying fasces with an axe over his left shoulder. Babelon (Junia) 31. Crawford 433/1. RBW 1542. Sydenham 906. Nicely toned and well centered. Struck from a somewhat worn reverse die and with minor marks, otherwise, good very fine.
