Octavian, 44-27 BC. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.37 g, 2 h), uncertain mint in Italy (Rome?), autumn 30-summer 29 BC. IMP Bearded head of Mars to right, wearing crested Corinthian helmet. Rev. Round shield, inscribed CAESAR around upper part of the rim, the boss ornamented with an eight-pointed star, lying on top of sword and spear in saltire. BMC 644. Cohen 44. RIC 274. Struck slightly off center and with some banker's marks on the obverse, otherwise, nearly very fine.
