NORTHEAST GAUL. Bellovaci. Circa 60-30/25 BC. 1/4 Stater (Subaeratus, 12 mm, 1.42 g), a contemporary plated imitation of the 'à l'astre' type. Devolved and disjointed male head to right, with prominent nose, big eye and a star on the temple. Rev. Horse galloping right; above and below, radiant suns. Cf. DT 274 and LT 7239 (for prototype). Some breaks in plating, otherwise, good very fine.
