SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Alexander I Balas, 152-145 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 21 mm, 7.03 g, 12 h), Tyre, RY 166 = 147/6. Diademed and draped bust of Alexander I to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - AΛEΞANΔPOΥ Eagle standing left on prow, wings closed and with palm frond behind; in field to left, club surmounted by city monogram; to upper right, ςΞP above monogram. SC 1836.4a. Nicely toned. Thin flan crack and the reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, very fine.
