SICILY. Leontini. Circa 476-466 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 20 mm, 8.23 g, 7 h). Nude jockey, holding whip in his right hand and reins in his left, on horse galopping to right. Rev. ΛEONTINO Head of a roaring lion with open jaws to right; around, four barley grains. Boehringer, Münzgeschichte, 13. HGC 2, 679. SNG ANS 207 (same dies). Light scratches and the obverse struck somewhat off center, otherwise, fine.
