A pair of gold earrings. Greek, Hellenistic Period, 3rd-1st centuries BC. (height: 4.7 cm; weight: 20.84 g). Two gold earrings, each with hollow-formed loop decorated with filigree pattern and four teardrop-shaped bezels each holding garnet stone; opposite ends ornamented with a shield set with a small garnet and raised disk. A bronze pin attaches the loops to their pendants, each composed of opposing pattern of triangles decorated with lines of granulation, above an alternating pattern of hollow beads and garnets set within teardrop-shaped bezels. Good condition but with some damage and loss, particularly on the pendants. Website shipping rates do not apply.
