The St. Albans Collection of English Gold Coins | NGC AU Details | George II (1727-1760), Guinea, 1746, reading GEORGIVS, intermediate laureate head left, rev. crowned and garnished shield, edge chevron milled, 8.36g, 6h (MCE 321; Schneider II, 592; Farey 890; EGC 608 [R3] {Bull P/3}; Murdoch III, -; Douglas-Morris 54; King -; Stratos 101; Spink 3678A), lightly polished and flecked but residually lustrous, nevertheless a bolder very fine, a surprising rarity in the Guinea series seldom encountered in public commerce, with NGC 'St Albans' Certification, graded AU Details ~ Cleaned (#6295553-036).
