Seleukid Empire, Antiochos II Theos AR Tetradrachm. Ephesos(?) mint, 261-258 BC. Diademed head to right / Apollo, testing bow, seated to left on omphalos; monogram in exergue. SC 543.1b; HGC 9, 239. 16.90g, 31mm, 12h.
Good Very Fine; light cabinet tone. A very rare variant of the 'Apollo on omphalos' type which depicts Apollo testing a bow, rather than an arrow, and thus resting his redundant left hand on the omphalos.
