Henry VIII († 28 January 1547), Posthumous Issue, under Edward VI, Transitional Period, Groat, 1547-1551, Tower, crowned bust 6 three-quarters facing right, rev. square-topped shield over long cross fourchée, 2.17g, 4h, m.m grapple [on rev. only] (North 1871; Spink 2403), struck softly with traces of porosity, otherwise on a delightfully round flan, lightly toned and residually lustrous, the centres strictly fine, the peripheries very fine and not frequently encountered so presentable as this.
