Henry VIII († 28 January 1547), Posthumous Issue, under Edward VI, Transitional Period, Groat, 1547-1551, Tower, Roman lettering, crowned bust 5 three-quarters facing right, rev. square-topped shield over long cross fourchée, annulets in forks, 2.40g, 5h, m.m. arrow (North 1871; Spink 2403), a small striking split at 5 o'clock and traces of doubling to darkly toned surfaces, nevertheless a characterful strike, very fine or near so.
