Charles I (1625-1649), Group E, Type 4.1, Shilling, 1638-1639, Tower (under King), crowned bust left, large XII behind rev. square-topped shield over long cross moline, 6.05g, 9h, m.m. anchor with flukes to right (North 2230; Spink 2795), struck a defective planchet with a 'pig's tail flaw below bust, otherwise with dark grey cabinet surfaces albeit with a trace of horn silver to reverse shield, nevertheless pleasingly uniform, a bolder very fine.
