George III, 'Cartwheel Penny' Pill or Snuff Box, dated 1797, laureate bust right, rev. Britannia seated left, plain edge, extremely fine and in full working order.
These 'snuff' or 'pill' boxes are believed to have previously been used to hide a range of items from more valuable gold coins to opium.
