(g) Italy, Venice, Marcantonio Giustinian (1684-1688), A Jeweller's Fantasy of a 10-Zecchini, struck from false dies, M ANT IVSTIN | S M VENET, 35.02g, 6h (cf. Mont 2063 [Zecchino]; Pao 109.1 [Zecchino]; cf. Fb. 1341 [Zecchino]) an imagined after-market curiosity from this intriguingly short-lived 107th Doge famous for his attractive Osella issues with the depiction of the Piazza San Marco, this however evidently inspired by his more workaday Zecchino issues, cleaned and smoothed, struck details better than very fine.
