IONIA, Ephesos. Circa 180-67 BC. AR Tetradrachm (26mm, 112.57 g, 12h). Cistophoric standard. Dated CY 55 (80/79 BC). Cista mystica with serpent; all within ivy wreath / Two serpents entwined around bow and bowcase; above, Artemis; to left, NE (date) above EΦE, torch to right. Kleiner, Dated 56; DCA 325; BMC 166. Underlying luster, minor die wear on obverse, minor scuff on reverse. Good VF.
