Diva Faustina Senior. Died AD 140/1. Æ Sestertius (30mm, 23.51 g, 12h). Rome mint. Struck under Antoninus Pius, circa AD 141-146. DIVA AVGVS TA FAVSTINA, draped bust right, wearing pearls bound on top of her head / PIETAS AVGVSTI, S C in exergue, hexastyle temple façade set on two-tiered base; ornate pediment decorated with figures; roof line surmounted by quadriga; figures with billowing veils at ends. RIC III 1148 (Pius) var. (rev. legend); Beckmann Group 6, dies daf18/T14; Banti 97. Rough brown surfaces, a couple of edge nicks on obverse. Near VF. Very rare. Banti cites one example. Beckmann records two examples with this die pairing.
