ACHAEMENID EMPIRE. temp. Artaxerxes II to Artaxerxes III (Circa 375-340 BC). AR Siglos (5.35 gm; 16 mm). Persian king or hero in kneeling-running right, holding dagger and bow / Incuse punch. Carradice Type IV, group C (pl. XIV, 46); BMC Arabia pl. XXVII, 19; Sunrise 33var. Well struck on an excellent metal. Very interesting circular countermark below the bow on obverse and nice monogram of head of a lion facing left on reverse. Choice EF. Rare.
