IONIA. Magnesia ad Maeandrum. Circa 125-120 BC. Stater (Gold, 18 mm, 8.39 g, 12 h), struck under the magistrate Euphemos, son of Pausanias. Diademed and draped bust of Artemis to right, with bow and quiver at her shoulder. Rev. ΜΑΓΝΗΤΩΝ / ΕΥΦΗΜΟΣ ΠΑΥΣΑΝΙΟΥ Nike, driving biga galloping to right, holding whip in her right hand and the reins in her left. Triton XXIII, 2020, 361 (same dies), otherwise unpublished. Good very fine.
It is not known whether the magistrate Euphemos, son of Pausanias, is the same person as that named on an issue of stephanephori that, according to Jones, was struck circa 150-140 BC. It is possible that they were different members of the same family, such as grandfather and grandson, or they could be one and the same.
