Seal or Bulla (Lead, 37 mm, 35.63 g, 12 h), Kyriakos, apo Hypaton, Genikos Logothetes of the Apotheke of Isauria and Lykaonia, struck under Leontius, Indiction I (10) = 696-697. KYPIAKOY AΠO YΠATΩN Leontius, crowned, standing facing, wearing chlamys and holding globus cruciger. Rev. S ΓENI/KOΥ ΛΟΓΟΘ/ETOΥ AΠΟΘH/KHC ICAYPIA/C KAI ΛYKA/ONIAC in six lines within. The commerciarii were charged with the duty of collecting the "κομμέρκιον", a 10% tax applied, as is the VAT of today, on all commercial activities. The Genikos Logothetes was in charge of the commerciarii within the provinces mentioned in the seal. Kyriakos whose carrier as a General Logothetes is documented on seals between 696 and 704 had power over extensive provinces of Asia Minor as Kapatiane, Lydia, Kilicia, Isauria, Lycaonia (during the reign of Leontios) and Koloneia, Kamacha, Lazike under the reign of Tiberios III.
