TROAS, Abydos. Circa 350-325 BC. AR Half Siglos (13mm, 2.59 g, 1h). Protagoras, magistrate. Laureate head of Apollo left / Eagle standing left; trident head to left, [ΠPΩ]TAΓOPA[Σ] to right. SNG Ashmoleon 696–70 var. (magistrate & symbol); SNG von Aulock 1442 var. (same). VF, slightly off center. Apparently unpublished variety with this magistrate.

Although the first letters of the name are off the flan, the magistrate Protagoras is known on drachms from the immediately preceding period of Attic-weight coinage (cf. SNG von Aulock 7536).
