Hong Kong, HSBC 1900 PMG Very Fine 20 5 Dollars (Contemporary Counterfeit)
A well made contemporary counterfeit of this scarce early type from Hong Kong that evidently circulated for some time before it was withdrawn from circulation. A contemporary annotation tells the whole story and makes this piece particularly interesting. We have not been able to locate many other contemporary counterfeits of this issue and as genuine notes are very rare this would make for a collectable and historical alternative. PMG mentions "Annotations; minor corner damage".
