Ionia, Magnesia on the Maeander. Silver Tetradrachm (16.34 g), ca. 155-145 BC. Erasippos, son of Aristeos, magistrate. Diademed and draped bust of Artemis right, bow and quiver at shoulder. Reverse: MAΓNHTΩN, Apollo Delphios standing left, holding filleted branch and resting elbow on tall tripod behind; EPAΣIΠΠOΣ/APIΣTEOY in two lines to left; maeander pattern below; all within laurel wreath. Jones obv. die 28; SNG Delepierre 2642; SNG Lockett 2829. Struck on a nice, full flan. Fully lustrous and nearly mint state. NGC grade AU; Strike: 4/5, Surface: 2/5.
