Sicily. Akragas. AE Hemilitron, c. 425-410 BC. Obv. Eagle standing right, head raised, clutching hare in talons; to right, locust (or fly). Rev. Crab clutching eel in claw; conch shell and octopus below; six pellets around. CNS I -; cf. 40; HGC 2 - cf. 131 (obv.) and 134 (rev.); SNG ANS 1031. AE. 15.95 g. 27.00 mm. RR. A rare and interesting combination of obverse and reverse type. Glossy olive green patina. VF.
