HGC-6, 1455; Pr-2522; Ashton-254. In the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Obverse: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin; Reverse: Zeus seated left on throne, holding scepter and eagle; magistrate's name in left field; below throne, PO below strut. Just a hint of off-centering is noted on the reverse of this barely-handled civic issue of Alexander's type. Quite attractively toned and with bold detail throughout, it even retains some enchanting brilliance remaining in the protected areas.
