MEXICO. 8 Escudos, 1760-Mo MM. Mexico City Mint. Charles III. NGC AU-55.
Fr-25; KM-153. A two-year type, and one that is the first year for the coinage of Charles III, this impressive, nearly-Mint, and charmingly SCARCE specimen stands as an exceptional survivor. The bust of the Spanish king is draped and armored, with the Color of the Order of the Golden Fleece--the order of chivalry long associated with the Habsburgs and other royal houses of Europe--is clearly hung from his neck. Handsomely toned and still retaining some hints of brilliance in the protected areas.
Estimate: $6000 - $9000
