MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1787-Mo FM. Mexico City Mint. Charles III. PCGS MS-62.
KM-106.2A; FC-72A; El-100; Yonaka-M8-87. The single finest example graded at PCGS and for good reason; the 1787-Mo issue is common in lower grades but becomes increasingly difficult as you approach mint state. Cartwheeling satiny-luster bounds off the surfaces to greet the viewer and the strike is so bold it gives the coin the appearance of a coin made a century later. Mostly brilliant save for a splash of amber toning on the right obverse field, this coin dazzles and sits atop the throne for the date - a "WOW Coin"!
