MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1809-Mo HJ. Mexico City Mint. Ferdinand VII. PCGS MS-61.
KM-110; Yonaka-M8-109A. Imaginary Bust type. A very SCARCE assayer and date combination on the current example help make this 1809-Mo HJ a difficult coin to find within the series - especially with this much eye appeal and luster. Tied for the finest known at PCGS at MS-61 this coin was previously graded MS-62 by NGC (2877747-005) and is clearly premium for the assigned grade. Champagne surfaces light up with ample luster and lovely amber toning near the obverse edges. Some type-typical weakness of strike is noted at the top of the design on both sides.
The Stendebach Collection.
Estimate: $800 - $1200
