MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1818-Mo JJ. Mexico City Mint. Ferdinand VII. PCGS MS-62.
KM-111; Yonaka-M8-118. Later date Ferdinand VII coins can be found nicer, but few have the luster, and devastating eye appeal of the current 1818 example from Mexico City. Untoned and flashing with luster from any angle, the current example exudes quality and was even previously graded a half point higher at NGC (6055560-009). Some type-typical strike weakness can be seen in the central devices, but this example still maintains a better strike than most. One of the very best for the date in general and issue as a whole.
