MEXICO. "Hookneck" 8 Reales, 1823-Mo JM. Mexico City Mint. PCGS MS-63.
KM-A376.2; HO-MO4/MR4. Variety with standard edge and flat top 3 in date. Already emanating from the ever-popular series of "hookneck" eagles that preceded the massive striking of the iconic cap and rays coinage, this tremendously original survivor has somehow remained free from issue, even free from time in circulation, offering a pleasing strike and an ample array of lustrous brilliance, while some elegant and enticing iridescence highlights a few portions of the peripheries. Undoubtedly a great and RARE opportunity for the advanced collector in this tantalizing series, as it is the highest certified for the type in the PCGS census, and the only such Mint State example at that.

Estimate: $7000 - $10000
