KM-R7. Countermark: Variety B, Long and thin key. Applied to the obverse of a 1872-Mo M Mexico Republic "Balance Scale" Peso (KM-408.5). This attractive and nicely preserved example boasts a strong bold countermark and lovely mottled gray patina with hints of underlying luster. When held in the light iridescent hues become apparent adding to its pleasing appearance. Close inspection reveals a few edge bumps accounting for the details designation, but are hardly a distraction for this handsome example. Despite its shortcomings this attractive survivor offers much originality with good eye appeal.
