KM-R7. Countermark: Variety B, Long and thin key. Applied to the reverse of a 1872-Zs H Mexico Republic "Balance Scale" Peso (KM-408.8). This moderately handled example exhibits a bold full countermark on decently preserved host displaying mottled gray patina with minor earthen deposits near the edge. Close inspection reveals numerous scratches from long ago accounting for the details designation, adding a bit of character. Despite its shortcomings a presentable example of this seldom encountered issue.
